so, we have an incredible opportunity for you. At Telura, we’re
developing a new kind of drilling system which uses ultra-high-voltage
electro-impulses to fracture hard rock and access geothermal energy,
anywhere on Earth. The demand for clean energy is real, and recent
advancements in research prove that the physics checks out — it’s
a pure engineering challenge. We’ve completed key validation steps
and are moving fast toward prototyping and proof-of-concept testing.
We’ve spent the past months validating the opportunity and
developing a playbook to build one of the world’s most ambitious
geothermal companies. Now, we’re assembling a world-class team of
curious, collaborative and ambitious builders - and we’re looking
for a thermofluids modelling engineer to help design the systems that
will keep our technology alive kilometres underground. Tasks What
you’ll be working on Design and develop our mud delivery,
extraction, and cooling systems — from first principles to
field-ready Build CFD and thermal models of downhole conditions
(fluid, rock, system interface) Simulate mud circulation, phase
change, and heat exchange between the tool and environment Design and
optimise cooling, flow, and thermal protection strategies Use
experimental and field data to calibrate, validate and improve model
fidelity Support integration of thermal systems into the overall
drilling assembly Collaborate closely with mechanical and electrical
teams on co-design and test Select and collaborate with external
partners, suppliers and research labs Contribute to test planning and
validation in high-stress, high-temp environments Work with the
founders and product team on roadmap and technical decisions
Requirements What you should bring Degree in Mechanical, Thermal, or
Fluids Engineering — PhD ideal, but not required Deep expertise in
CFD, heat transfer, and thermofluid dynamics Able to recommend and
help establish appropriate modelling and simulation toolsets Ideally,
experience with mud systems, geothermal, O&G, or deep mining Hands-on
mentality: you enjoy building, testing, and tuning complex physical
systems Structured and independent working style, with a willingness
to take ownership Comfortable working in a hybrid setup (remote +
on-site collaboration when needed), with potential to relocate to
Munich in future Willingness to travel occasionally to partners,
suppliers, and field sites Ideally, experience working in a start-up
