- Düsseldorf University Hospital (UKD) is the largest hospital in the
state capital and one of the most important medical centers in North
Rhine-Westphalia. The 9,300 employees at UKD and its subsidiaries are

the UKD. Every day. The Institute of Pathology of the University
Hospital Düsseldorf is looking for a new position from 01.10.2025
until 31.08.2027. Bioinformatician (m/f/d) The employment is within
the framework of the Scientific Fixed-Term Contract Act (WissZeitVG
according to Section 2 Paragraph 2) and is initially limited until the
end of the project on August 31, 2027. In the consortial ENDOFERT
project on endometriosis funded by the BMBF, a sub-project is
dedicated to spatial transcriptomics. Technologies such as COSMX
(Nanostring), Xenium (10x Genomics) or CODEX assays are used. In
addition, scripts will also be developed using open source tools
(QuPath, lmageJ etc.). The project analyzes the microenvironment of
endometriosis, which will be compared with previous experience in the
field of carcinogenesis. Integration with the Bio-lnformatics Core
Unit and international network partners also enables rapid access to
the topic. The instrumental equipment offers excellent starting
conditions due to the acquired digital tissue microarray platform and
the GPU expansion of the HPC infrastructure at the Düsseldorf site.
Responsibilities: Bioinformatic processing and analysis of spatial
OMICS data sets Establishment of required bioinformatic analysis
software in close coordination with the core bioinformatics unit
Interface management between TMA platform, CUBI, Core Unit Spatial
Omics. Basic bioinformatic data analysis of sequencing data
Qualifications: Completed university degree (Master or PhD) in
bioinformatics, computational biology or a related field lnterest in
interdisciplinary research Experience in project management Excellent
oral and written communication skills in English Strang ability to
